About this puzzle

33 islands on a 13×13 grid need 49 bridges between them. The biggest island number is 6.

11 islands need at least one bridge to every neighbour.

Where to start

One island takes the maximum its neighbours allow, so every connection there is a double bridge.

A good first move: the island with the number 2 at row 8, column 4, which can see one neighbour.

At least once you will need to try a bridge in your head and see it fail one step later.

→ Counting moves: bridges, skyscrapers and lights
