About this puzzle

33 islands on a 13×13 grid need 40 bridges between them. The biggest island number is 6.

7 islands need at least one bridge to every neighbour.

Where to start

One island takes the maximum its neighbours allow, so every connection there is a double bridge.

A good first move: the island with the number 4 at row 1, column 11, which can see 2 neighbours.

At least once you will need to try a bridge in your head and see it fail one step later.

→ Counting moves: bridges, skyscrapers and lights
