Where to start
The 10 down 4 cells starting at row 3, column 3 can only be 1 + 2 + 3 + 4.
The 30 across 4 cells starting at row 3, column 7 can only be 6 + 7 + 8 + 9.
Some runs only resolve when you test which of their combinations still fit the crossing runs. Notes make that bookkeeping easy.
