Labelled advert boxes
Advertising is what keeps the lights on. A handful of text pages — the front page, the puzzle index, each list of numbered sheets, the rules overview and the four guides — have a single box labelled “Advertisement”. No advert will ever show up outside such a box.
Google AdSense is the network those boxes are meant for, and it is not switched on yet. Until it is, each box carries a few lines from us that invite advertisers and sponsors to get in touch.
You will not find a box anywhere you solve: not on the game pages, not on numbered sheets, not on the daily puzzle. The contact, privacy and terms pages have none either.
Sponsored series
Another route is direct sponsorship: a company may put its name to one puzzle type or to a run of numbered sheets. Such a block always says “Sponsored by …” followed by the company name. Sponsorship buys a mention and nothing more — the generator, the solver and the grading stay exactly as they are.
Off the table
- Adverts placed in a grid or over the controls you use to solve.
- Anything sold for money inside the puzzles — hints, answers or extra sheets.
- Passing visitor data to advertisers or to any other buyer.
- Pop-ups that interrupt a puzzle.
