About this puzzle

8 islands on a 7×7 grid need 10 bridges between them. The biggest island number is 5.

2 islands need at least one bridge to every neighbour.

Where to start

3 islands take the maximum their neighbours allow, so every connection there is a double bridge.

A good first move: the island with the number 2 at row 6, column 5, which can see one neighbour.

Island arithmetic is enough here: compare each number with the neighbours it can see.

→ Counting moves: bridges, skyscrapers and lights
